next we cross the mighty Hawkesbury by historic vehicular ferry.
following isolated creeks and rivers, we climb into the Mountains by forested sandstone trails.
we travel `over' the mountains and through historic mining villages, now almost `ghost' towns
if time permits, we may visit the site of the first road crossing of the Blue Mountains at Mt York, where evidence of early 19th Century roadmaking, can still be found.
lunch at Blackheath village among the antique shops!
next, to the famous `Three Sisters' rock formation where you may choose to ride Katoomba's historic `Mountain Devil' down into the World Heritage Listed rainforests of the Jamison Valley floor.
after taking a guided walk along an instructive boardwalk, we rise from the rainforest via cable car to view the splendid Three Sisters, Ruin Castle, Orphin Rock and Mount Solitary.
